Our Commitment: We believe in privacy by design. We collect and store only the minimum information necessary to provide our service. We do not store photos permanently on our servers, and we never sell your personal data.

We collect only the minimal information required to operate MyStoryMate effectively:
- Account Information: Name and email address for parent accounts
- Authentication Data: Encrypted passwords or social login identifiers (if you choose social sign-in)
- Kid Profile Information: Optional child profiles created by parents, including name, age group, and avatar preferences
- Subscription & Credits: Information related to your subscription plan and credit balance
- Usage Data: Basic analytics such as app features used, stories created, and general usage patterns (anonymized where possible)
- Device Information: Device tokens for push notifications (if enabled), device type, and app version
2. What We Do NOT Store
Photos and Images: We do not store any photos permanently on our servers. When you use features like the Magic Mirror (camera) to create characters, photos are processed temporarily for character generation and then immediately deleted. We only store the generated character images, not your original photos.
- We do not store payment card details (handled by secure third-party payment processors)
- We do not store location data
- We do not store browsing history or activity outside our app
- We do not collect or store biometric data
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:
- Service Delivery: To create personalized stories, jokes, and riddles based on your preferences and kid profiles
- Account Management: To manage your account, subscriptions, and credit balance
- Communication: To send important service updates, account notifications, and respond to your inquiries
- Improvement: To analyze usage patterns (in aggregate, anonymized form) to improve our app features and user experience
- Security: To protect your account from unauthorized access and ensure platform security
- Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws and regulations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Children's Privacy
MyStoryMate is designed with children's privacy in mind:
- Children do not create accounts or sign in directly
- All child profiles are created and managed exclusively by parents
- Parents have full control over their children's profile data and can edit or delete it at any time
- We comply with applicable children's privacy laws, including COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent
5. Data Storage and Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- All data is encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS
- Sensitive data (like passwords) is encrypted at rest
- We use secure cloud infrastructure with regular security audits

Photo Handling: As mentioned above, photos uploaded for character creation are processed temporarily and deleted immediately after processing. Only the AI-generated character images are stored, not your original photos.

- Payment Processors: For subscription and payment processing (they handle payment card data, not us)
- Cloud Services: For secure data storage and hosting

- Push Notification Services: For delivering notifications to your device

- Backup Data: Deleted data may remain in backups for up to 90 days before being permanently removed

- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information through your account settings
